![]() | Property TaxesWhat new changes have been made to the tax statements?New Parcel Numbers: New District Number: Single Statement for Real Estate, Drainage, Levee, and Special Assessments: What options are available to me to pay my property taxes?Property taxes may be paid in semi-annual installments due September and March. Property taxes are handled by the Treasurer's office and can be paid in-person, mailed in or paid online. Full or partial payments of current and delinquent taxes will be accepted at any time. Does your mortgage company pay your property tax?Please contact your mortgage company if you are unsure who is responsible for paying the tax. In-Person Payment:The Treasurer's office is located on the first floor of the Des Moines County Courthouse. The Courthouse is located at 513 N. Main St., Burlington, Iowa. The tax department is located on the east side of the office. Mailing Payment:Mail Payment To (as shown on your tax receipt): On current taxes due, the first installment must be postmarked by September 30th and the second installment must be postmarked by March 31st in order not be penalized. Online Payment:The amount payable online represents all taxes that are payable online for each parcel listed in either the first (September) or second (March) payment period. Full or partial payments of current and delinquent taxes will be accepted at any time. There are two convenient methods for making your tax payments, eCheck and Credit Cards.
